Cleopatra Nilda ;-), just teasing Tita Nil

I suggested that maybe we should go to Chinatown for lunch (VIP Restaurant), right after church. But, as we started to drive away, a few suggestions for alternate lunch destinations, closer by, came up, and so from the original idea of lunch in Chinatown (VIP Restaurant), we ended up in the West Island, at the Arahova Souvlaki restaurant, the one near Fairview Shopping Centre. Thank God, we had a great lunch and a chance to walk around and do some 'sight shopping' at Fairview afterwards.

Gyro chicken plate- large, $15.00

Tita Nil and I shared a large plate of Gyro chicken- with fries, salad

FAMAS Induction Ball 2007 Slide Show

[ Click here to go to my Picasa Web Album for the rest of the photos ]

Saturday Night at the FAMAS Induction Ball

We were invited to attend the induction ball for the newly elected executive board of FAMAS (Filipino Association of Montreal and Suburbs). The invitation cost us $100.00 ($50.00 per person, dinner, dance). It was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Montreal (formerly the Meridien Hotel).

Coming into the downtown area, I took the Ville Marie Expressway. I had my camera (Canon SD1000) on standby, ready to shoot on the fly. There's this certain frame I'd been wanting to shoot, it's where and when you are approaching the De La Montagne exit off the Ville Marie. Again, I just love the compactness of the SD1000.

I took these four photos (above) after taking the De La Montagne exit and while weaving through the slow moving traffic. This was in the vicinity of the Bell Centre where the Montreal Canadiens pro-hockey team was scheduled to play, which explains the heavy traffic.

Finally made it to the Hyatt Regency, made our way into the hotel parking, underground level. Max Handinero, an old acquaintance of ours, shows us a vacant parking spot. Thanks Max!

For the rest of the pictures from the FAMAS Induction Ball, I will be posting them shortly on my Picasa Web Album.

Cheers! Mabuhay!!

Breakfast at Fairview Deli

Tita Nil and I had breakfast the other day at the Fairview Deli restaurant inside the Fairview Shopping Centre.

I took these photos using my Canon SD1000, ISO setting was on High. Noticed the graininess (if there's such a word), characteristic of a higher ISO setting.

Tita Nil loves real Coke

Playing around with the various settings that come with my Canon SD1000.

Here are a couple of pictures I took using 'select a color' thingy. Can you guess what color? ;-)

By the way, that tall Coca-Cola plastic bottle came from one of the Roy Rogers along the NY Thruway. Uncle Marvin got it for Tita Nil.

I love my Sony DSC-S75

I love it specially in low light conditions, even with the flash turned off.

Here are photos I took recently, so as to compare results with my new, smaller Canon SD1000 (which have many features that my older Sony doesn't have). I am posting only the photos from my Sony.

By the way, a challenge I have with my older Sony DSC-S75 is that it only takes up to a maximum of 128mb Memory Stick.

Following are some recent photos from Tita Nil's garden.

C'mon give me a break.

I am already late for work- still have to walk the dog or else it'll pee wherever, and then I'll have to make a mad rush through the crowded interstate thruway and put up with the long toll booth line ups, etc.
oh no, this is what happens when I forgot to walk the dog before leaving for work
I am late for work already, I was here first
