Sam wanted to take me to this new place he discovered.

It is the Towne Hall, just across the Monster Gym on Brunswick Blvd, Pointe Claire.

Lunch at the Elixor Restaurant

Quiet afternoon, not too busy, I thought, let's go to Laval for lunch, at the
Elixor, and have that Sunday's Favorite Pasta.

Soon as we get settled down to our table my mobile phone gets crazy, one call after another, three prospective clients in all, one of them calling from the US Park Service in Hawaii.

The food, as always, was delicious. The service also was great. The waiter told us that pretty soon we do not have to drive all the way to Laval for our Sunday's Favorite pasta dish. Elixor will be opening a branch on Sources Blvd. Wooohooo!!

This Past Sunday

At church by 9:45AM, Pam had a meeting with their Graceland Children's Ministry Team and I was leading Praise & Worship during the Sunday morning service.



Lunch was at the Marche De L'Ouest courtesy of Sushi Japango.

After lunch we headed to the Dairy Queen a few steps away from Mommy's Fish and Chips for dessert.







From Dairy Queen we headed towards the water, by the banks of Lac St. Louis, to enjoy the view of the surrounding area.

Lunch with Sam T., at Maiko Sushi on Bernard St. One of our favorite sushi place. Whenever dining there (usually lunch), I order their Bento dish ($16.00); yesterday I had the Beef bento (with Salmon, Tempura shrimp & veggies, fresh veggies, etc.)

I suggested that maybe we should go to Chinatown for lunch (VIP Restaurant), right after church. But, as we started to drive away, a few suggestions for alternate lunch destinations, closer by, came up, and so from the original idea of lunch in Chinatown (VIP Restaurant), we ended up in the West Island, at the Arahova Souvlaki restaurant, the one near Fairview Shopping Centre. Thank God, we had a great lunch and a chance to walk around and do some 'sight shopping' at Fairview afterwards.

Lunch at Elixor in Laval

I planned to go downtown, take Tita Nil along with me, go to Place Victoria, where the office for the business registration / renewal is located, and head to Chinatown for lunch right after completing the transaction. We were going to drive to the closest Metro, park the car at a nearby park and ride spot, and take the Metro downtown.

It was a few minutes past noon when I called Trish to check the commuter train schedule because we've decided that it would be much better just to take the train, which had a station not far from where we were. According to Trish there was one coming at 12:10pm, I glanced at my watch and it was 12:03pm, so we gave it a shot. Drove home to borrow a couple of train tickets from Trish. After picking it up we drove to the station which was just close by, and hopefully find a parking spot and be able to board that 12:10pm train. But, it wasn't meant to be, we weren't able to make it on time.

Tita Nil suggested that we'll just go downtown the following day, Friday (today). Considering that we did not have to rush back to the West Island for the "Walk Away the Pounds" workout we do at the church on Thursdays and Mondays, I concurred.

That's how we ended up in Laval, having lunch at Elixor (love their Pasta). I suggested that we just go for a lunch date at Elixor, for we both love and miss their "Sunday Pasta" dish anyway.

Business has been very good and no complains, I had to run out of the restaurant at least a couple of times to take calls from prospective customers (the acoustic inside isn't very good), actually took an order (which didn't take very long, I think), afterwards headed back inside the restaurant to join Tita Nil, once more, and finally, we finished our delicious meal of "Sunday Pasta".

Seafood, anyone?

Seafood Craving

One Saturday evening Pam called asking if we were going out for dinner and I replied that we did not have any plans but were considering (Tita Nil and I) the idea since we haven't prepared anything yet. Turns out that they were watching a show on TV that featured seafood dishes which then triggered this craving for seafood on their part. :-)

We decided on Peche Peche, a popular, elegant, reasonably priced restaurant in Dollard Des Ormeaux, right by the Marche De L'Ouest, that specialized in seafood. The restaurant also has a seafood store in their premises.

This past Easter Sunday, after considering a variety of options, we headed for Peter's Cape Cod in the town of St. Anne De Bellevue, another superb place for seafood dining, for lunch.

I ordered one of my favorite dish, Fried Calamare Platter, so did Trish and Pam. Allen had his English style Fish N' Chips while Tita Nil enjoyed the Chicken Breast Platter.
