For our American neighbors who will be flying this Thanksgiving Holiday and who happen to surf on to my blog, this may be helpful for you.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!!

A Good Start - CFB

Good day,

We will take the filter with the micro particle filters and the two clamps, we'll use our own hoses due to the different length to be use.
You have to build your own part number so our purchasing cell can order it.
I have been allowed 7K so I'll take as much as I can for this amount.

Waiting for your reply.

This could be the start of many more orders in the months and years to come - activated carbon refills and other units. Special thanks to God for making this possible.

Exploding cell phones

By ELIZABETH WOLFE, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Curtis Sathre said it was like a bomb going off. His 13-year-old son Michael stood stunned, ears ringing, hand gushing blood after his cell phone exploded. Safety officials have received 83 reports of cell phones exploding or catching fire in the past two years, usually because of bad batteries or chargers. [ more ]

Scary, don't you think? I have not [inserted 'not'] heard of any such thing reported here in Canada. Have this happened to someone you know?

America's Safest (and Most Dangerous) Cities

FYI :)

America's Safest (and Most Dangerous) Cities

City Crime Rankings Names
Newton, Massachusetts as America’s Safest City
Camden, NJ Ranks as Most Dangerous

Watch out, should you ever get lost and take the wrong exit off the Expressway or Turnpike ;)

You'd wish you had OnStar, if you happen to be in Camden, NJ ;)

Cycling Humour

Cycling Humour

Found this web site while searching for cycling and stress (how cycling can help relieve stress).

Exerpt:
"You might think that a sport like cycling would be devoid of humour, but following is my collection of classic quotes from some of the biggest and sexist egos in professional cycling."

Top Ten Reasons Why Computers and Bicycling Don't Mix

1. Finding a blender that size would be almost impossible.
2. Whaddya mean, megabyte? I can't even chew this disgusting PowerBar as it is.
3. The Information Superhighway sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
4. Computer programming? No problem. What's your wheel size?
5. Who needs more RAM? Once a year is more than enough.
6. I don't know what's worse, staring at a screen all day or at my front tire.
7. Hard drive? Shoot, wait'll the race.
8. Carpal Tunnel makes me claustrophobic.
9. I don't want a better monitor. I'm barely passing my urinalysis as it is.
10. If I have to restart every time I crash, I quit.

Went for another 30km bike ride today. It was a bit windy, -1C, sunny. It was refreshing to have that cold breeze blowing on one's face.

Silver Bells, Christmas Bells, Holiday Season getting you down?

Trust Means "Let Go And Let God" Part VI

By Dr. Robert Schuller

"I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't fragile like the peace the world gives." - John 14:27

What do you do with stress? You surrender it to His care. Your failures, your griefs, your setbacks, your insecurities, your feelings of inferiority: Surrender them to His care.

You surrender your stress to His care and your sins to His cross. Did you know that the number one psychological subconscious cause of stress is guilt? There is no way of dealing with guilt, short of spiritual experience. I am all for psychiatry. I am all for psychology. I have studied both and still do. It's a continuing discipline for me, and I am not unlearned in this area. I commend every psychologist and psychiatrist, and in this church we have professionals in that realm. However, only the psychologist who has scars in His palms has the power to say to you, "I know what you have done. I forgive you." His name is Jesus Christ. He alone has the power to forgive, and it is His cross. Surrender your stress to God's care, and your sins to God's cross.

When I linger at the cross of Christ, He lifts my stressful burden... His yoke is easy. His burden is light.

HealthyComputing - The Premier Source For Computer and Office Ergonomics

Are you like me, who works sitting down in front of a computer, for most of the day?

HealthyComputing -The Premier Source For Computer and Office Ergonomics

Tip of the day

To reduce eyestrain, follow the 20/20/20 rule: after every 20 minutes of typing, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds to rest your eyes.

Positioning or using your computer improperly can lead to various injuries, from the short term discomfort of headaches to potentially debilitating conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
  • How far should I sit from my monitor?
  • What's a common computer related cause of discomfort in my neck?
  • How can stretches help my back?

Sitting

(additional comments, taken from Centre Hospitalier Angrignon material)

Sit on a low chair allowing your feet to rest flat on the ground. The chair should be firm and with arm rests.

Straighten your neck keeping your chin tucked in and make sure your back is well supported. The back of the chair should maintain the lower back (lumbar region) slightly curved anteriorly. A rolled towel, or Obus Forme, used with an ordinary chair can improve your posture.

Bring your chair close to your desk. Do not work with the head bent over. Adjust the height of the working surface to be at the level of your elbows in the sitting position. If you wear reading glasses, place your book low enough to maintain the chin tucked in and the neck lengthened.
