Yes indeed, it feels so good to sweat, sweat, sweat.

Good to have Uncle Pilo drop by and join our regular walking group in this evening's 4 Miles Walk Away the Pounds Advance workout. This workout program is a very good cross training program specially for building up stamina.

We meet at 7:00 pm, Mondays and Thursdays at Fairview Alliance Church. As an added bonus, if you come earlier, you can warm up by playing some table tennis. And, if you want to sweat some more, continue your workout by playing more table tennis after the 4 mile walk routine.

Hope to see you at the next scheduled workout. FREE, No Charge.

Headwinds?!

What Headwinds!?

Wind was gusting around 30 kph, blowing straight at us as we made our way to the Old Port of Montreal.

Tough way to warm up for a 36 something kilometer ride, particularly when the air is cool to start with.

But, nevertheless, we rode with determination, with a smile on our face, hiding the pain from the wind.

The ride on the way back was the exact opposite. We were cruising at speeds of 30 - 35 kph. Not bad for my second ride of this season.

See you at the bike path soon!!

Garmin date from today's ride

Data collected by Uncle Pilo's new toy, gadget, instrument, tool, device, etc., etc. - the Garmin Edge 305.

First Ride This Season, 2007 - Old Port of Montreal

Uncle Pilo and I got together and rode to the Old Port of Montreal and back - Lachine, 55th Ave for me. I logged 36 kms for this ride.

It felt so good to ride once again.

I could not find my over booties. I was concerned that my pair of wool socks won't hold the cold weather from freezing my feet, but, nevertheless, did pretty good sans le booties.

Mild tail wind heading towards the Old Port, averaging 30 kph, but headwinds on the way back, felt much colder, we manage to average 20 something kph. What wind?! This will only make us stronger when we get to the hills and inclines, right Uncle Pilo?!

Stopped for coffee and to de-ice our feet, Montreal Science Centre Cafe at the Old Port. Lots of people lining up to catch an Imax movie.

As you can see, there is still ice and snow here in Montreal.

Care for a snowball fight? :-)

Corner of St. Patrick and Lasalle Blvd, by the entrance to Rene Levesque Park. We appreciated the cold weather and the overcast skies which most likely kept the bike path practically empty; just die hard cyclists like Uncle Pilo and myself. :-))

Loading up the bike on to the bike rack.

Seafood, anyone?

Seafood Craving

One Saturday evening Pam called asking if we were going out for dinner and I replied that we did not have any plans but were considering (Tita Nil and I) the idea since we haven't prepared anything yet. Turns out that they were watching a show on TV that featured seafood dishes which then triggered this craving for seafood on their part. :-)

We decided on Peche Peche, a popular, elegant, reasonably priced restaurant in Dollard Des Ormeaux, right by the Marche De L'Ouest, that specialized in seafood. The restaurant also has a seafood store in their premises.

Here are some photos from that outing.

This past Easter Sunday, after considering a variety of options, we headed for Peter's Cape Cod in the town of St. Anne De Bellevue, another superb place for seafood dining, for lunch.

I ordered one of my favorite dish, Fried Calamare Platter, so did Trish and Pam. Allen had his English style Fish N' Chips while Tita Nil enjoyed the Chicken Breast Platter.

Here are photos from that lunch date.
