Lasalle Bike Path

Standing on snow and ice along the Lasalle bike path, Lasalle, QC.
Behind me is the St. Lawrence River.

Pilo rode on his Mikado Marco Polo hybrid equipped with studded tires. I rode a borrowed mountain bike courtesy of Eric, Uncle Pilo's son.

Riding over snow covered roads with ice underneath the layer of snow requires lots of concentration- definitely requires a good balancing act.

Our Daily Bread: A Daily Devotional- Knowing God Personally

Our Daily Bread: A Daily Devotional: "Once it was the blessing, now it is the Lord;
Once it was the feeling, now it is His Word;
Once His gift I wanted, now the Giver own;
Once I sought for healing, now Himself alone. —Simpson

Knowing God is not only seeing His works but also learning His ways."

He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. —Psalm 103:7

Jesus beats Santa hands down

Santa lives at the North Pole.
JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh.
JESUS rides on the wind and
Walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year.
JESUS is our ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies.
JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited.
JESUS stands at your door and knocks,
And then enters your heart when invited.

You have to wait in line to see Santa.
JESUS is as close as the mention
Of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap.
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name,
All he can say is "Hi little boy or girl,
what's your name?"

JESUS knew our name
Even before we were born.
Not only does He know our name,
He knows our address too.
He knows our history and future.
He even knows how many hairs
Are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly.
JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is
"HO HO HO"
JESUS offers health,
Help and "hope."

Santa says
"You better not cry."
JESUS says
"Cast all your cares on me
For I care for you."

Santa may make you chuckle.
JESUS gives you joy
That is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts
Under your tree.
JESUS became our gift and
He died on a tree.. The cross!

We need to put Christ back in CHRISTmas!
Jesus is still the Reason for the Season.

For God so loved the world,
That He gave His only begotten Son,
That whosoever believeth in Him
Should not perish,
But have everlasting life.

How to Dress to Make Yourself Look Skinnier - WikiHow

How to Dress to Make Yourself Look Skinnier - WikiHow
How to Dress to Make Yourself Look Skinnier

Whether you've got a hot date or big interview, read on for some great tips on how to look slimmer.

Steps

1. Buy clothes that fit you. Whether you are a size 8 or a size 18, if you wear the wrong size clothes, you'll end up looking bigger than you are. Wearing clothes that are too tight leads to bulges and lumps, so try things on before you buy them. On the other hand, choosing clothes which are too big add to your size and make you look fatter.

2. Choose items which skim over areas you want to disguise. For instance, if you want to make your tummy look flatter, move away from skin tight vests, and choose a flattering tunic. Instead of choosing a mini skirt, hide chunky thighs under a floaty skirt.

3. Make sure you are wearing the right underwear. Thongs and g-strings are all well and good if you have no fat on your body, but if you want to give the illusion of a skinny figure, go for supportive styles which help to pull in the tummy. A well fitting bra can also help to create a smoother slimmer figure.

4. Highlight your good bits! If you have a beautiful slender neck, but a bit of weight on your waistline, draw attention to your neck with an eyecatching necklace, or other accessories. If you have toned arms, wear a sleeveless top to make the most of your assets.

5. Work on your posture. Stand up straight, pull your stomach in, and your shoulders back. You can pratice posture by balancing a book on your head and walking - the book shouldn't fall off! Whenever you get the chance, look in the mirror and make sure you are not hunched over. This is possibly the MOST important tip, as bad posture can add pounds visually.

Wish it was summer again

Went for a ride this afternoon and of course the weather didn't come close to the one seen on the following photos. It was a cold windy afternoon, something like -8C.

Worldisround - My Alma Mater: Don Bosco, Mandaluyong. by Gentle Lugtu [Eltneg]

Worldisround - My Alma Mater: Don Bosco, Mandaluyong. by Gentle Lugtu [Eltneg]

"The statue & painting is St. John Bosco.
St. Jonh bosco was born on Aug. 16, 1815 in Becchi, Italy & died on Jan. 31, 1888 in Turin, Italy. Hence, he lived for almost 73 yrs. which is a relatively-long period of time back then. Anyway, it was during his early years as a priest in Turin when he founded a school & a new religious Order ["the Salesians"] primarily geared at educating poor boys. And since there were lots of poor children not only in Turin but also all-over Italy, it didn't take long for the Salesians to become the 3rd biggest X-tian Order only behind the Jesuits [the biggest] & the Franciscan. But then again, these 2 Orders have been around for several centuries prior to St. John yet the Salesians grew RAPIDLY 'coz they focused on alleviating the plight of the poor boys especially since there were no "child laws" back then & so, a lot of the poor boys were already working on HORRENDOUZ conditions yet for the minimum wage!"

10 Reasons To Believe God Offers The Perfect Gift

Perfect Gift for the Holiday Season

10 Reasons To Believe God Offers The Perfect Gift

>>>> 10 Reasons To Believe God Offers The Perfect Gift

Keep this on the fridge

Did You Know That? Drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately -- without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional "pain relievers."

Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns.

Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They'll clear up your stuffed nose.

Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles.

Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

Cure urinary tract infections with Alka-Seltzer . Just dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and drink it at the onset of the symptoms. Alka-Seltzer begins eliminating urinary tract infections almost instantly -- even though the product was never been advertised for this use. (Note: Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine is not the same. and contains aspirin, which can cause stomach bleeding if you have ulcers.)

Honey remedy for skin blemishes... Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight.

Listerine therapy for toenail fungus ... Get rid of unsightly toenail fungus by soaking your toes in Listerine mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toenails looking healthy again.

Easy eyeglass protection ... To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of Maybelline Crystal Clear nail polish to the threads of the screws before tightening them.

Coca-Cola cure for rust ... Forget those expensive rust removers. Just saturate an abrasive sponge with Coca Cola and scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the coke is what gets the job done.

Cleaning liquid that doubles as bug killer ... If menacing bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets get in your home and you can't find the insecticide, try a spray of Formula 409. Insects drop to the ground instantly.

Smart splinter remover ...just pour a drop of Elmer's Glue-All over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin. The splinter sticks to the dried glue.

Hunt's tomato paste boil cure ....cover the boil with Hunt's tomato paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain and bring the boil to a head.

Balm for broken blisters ...To disinfect a broken blister, dab on a few drops of Listerine ... a powerful antiseptic.

Heinz vinegar to heal bruises ... Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

Kills fleas instantly . Dawn dish washing liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your dog's bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Goodbye fleas.

Rainy day cure for dog odor ... Next time your dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any dryer sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.

Eliminate ear mites ... All it takes is a few drops of Wesson corn oil in your cat's ear. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat's skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.

Quaker Oats for fast pain relief ....It's not for breakfast anymore! Mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and 1 cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly, and apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.

Here's Pauly!!!

From one of today's many Gmail threads-

Trish writes:

" Hi Guys,
I'm sooo tirredd, still have 4 1/2 hrs to go before i get to go home!
Daddy, i might be home before 6, actually i most likely will be home before 6, can you wait for me before you leave to meet up with mom @ the bizarre?
Talk to you guys later...on break now, class starts in 30min!"

Tito Lits replies:

" it's called a bazaar :))))))call me should you get this email before heading home today

dad "

Pam butts in:

" You're just like Joey, Trish!

Dad--are we going to Marvin's after?"

Paul follows up with:

" Keep up the good work Trish!!! I love you!!!! And it's MARVEN'S not MARVIN'S! HA! "

(note: Marven's is a great little restaurant famous for its Calamare platter and Souvlaki dish among others)

The thread ends with Tito Lits having the last word:

" you both [Pam and Paul] stink anyway :))sure, let's check out marvyn's
hopefully their [they're] not very busy- line ups sometimes, i heard, dads "

We did go to my sister-in-law Anna's church bazaar fund raising event later in the afternoon, spent a small fortune in clothes and accessories, but good deals. Afterwards, we all headed to Kum Mon Restaurant instead of Marven's (line ups as expected).

Ciao!!
