The Manotick Inn's New Bike N' Grill

Hi Auntie Lenny and Uncle Marv and the kiddies,

don't think we can make it there this weekend but definitely will want to sample the food from the new bike n' grill of the manotick inn :)

Len, did you find my wedding ring yet? Could be in the laundry room , could be in Aubrey's room, could be, could be....

Maybe it's time to upgrade to a new set, Tita Nil, would probably like that :), after 28 years, hmmmmm...

Bumper to bumper traffic at the Old Port of Montreal

50km+ ride to the Town of St.Anne De Bellevue

Dr. P and I went for a ride this afternoon. We met at the Lakeshore Blvd near the Sources Blvd exit. He rode from his place in Lasalle while I rode from Pierrefonds.

He did not go to work today, actually called in sick :). He looked just fine to me, but his voice sounded a little rough, complained about congestion in his chest (lungs), and thought that the fresh air will be therapeutic, will help in clearing up the congestion. It's amazing what breathing fresh, clean air can do Dr.P, huh? Maybe you need a good air filtration system at the office.

Anyways, it was truly a leisurely, easy going ride, no pushing hard, some sight-seeing, admiring the view and the beautiful homes along the Lakeshore.

It seemed like a long distance ride to St. Anne's in the previous rides, but now, we find ourselves saying, "we're here already?"

Too bad Paul wasn't able to come with us. He stayed behind to take care of the business- thanks Pauly boy!! Good orders ha?!

Weather forecast for the rest of the week looks good

We should make the most of this beautiful sunny day weather forecast, don't you think?.
It would be nice if we could ride tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon.
If I could be excused from Thursday night rehearsal, we could ride Thursday night too.
I'm on my way to another Elders Board Meeting. We're in the process of looking for a new senior pastor at Fairview.
Let me know (Pilo, Paul)

Here, Paul finds out that his right shoe cleat is damaged and does not lock-in, secure to the pedal. We still continued our ride towards Ile Notre Dame, did a couple of laps around the racing circuit. On the way back to Lasalle we stopped by Atwater ave., at the Cycle Technique bike shop to get the damaged cleat replaced. Thank God they have a set of original Look pedal cleats in stock. The pair costs $30.00 Canadian; the mechanic did not charge us for installation.

stretch limo, corner Notre Dame St. and Atwater Ave., across the Cycle Technique bike shop / store,
we stopped by the shop to get Paul's damaged cleats replaced.
Trish's front tire was leaking air again (we've replaced the tube a couple of times, we've checked the inside liner, seems fine, the tire's got a few cracks, probably needs to be replaced), pumped tire with air while at the shop, she made it back to Lasalle (our starting and return point, mom and dad's place), no problemos

Len found a Mavic jersey just like Marvin's, price reduced to $69.95, down from $89.95; yes, she bought it.

Progress report on the 1982 Peugeot road bike ressurection project: they have not touched the bike yet :(,

Trish put aside a yellow jersey for herself, on sale, $69.95 Canadian, down from $109.95. Good deal huh?! :) (as Tita Nil would say)Posted by Hello

"Mabuhay" is a Pilipino verb in the form of a command: "Live!"

"Mabuhay" is a Pilipino verb in the form of a command: "Live!"

It is also a wish: "May you live!"

Whosoever says it wishes upon you the great gift of a long and full life.

It is both a blessing and a lusty cheer.

"Mabuhay" (ma-boo-high) is such a large word that it lends itself to a wide number of secondary uses:

welcome, congratulations, thanks, godspeed, hello, good luck, cheers, prosit, sante, viva, kambei, aloha, and many other expressions of goodwill.

All these are a part of life; but it is the gift of life that makes them possible.

"Mabuhay", in other words, is an invocation and a celebration of life itself.

"Mabuhay!" sa lahat po ng aming kababayan na napapasyal po dito sa aming blog :)

"Mabuhay!" to all our blog visitors :)

Friday afternoon ride- photos

Paul, Trish and I met up with Pilo and Louis at the 55th avenue junction. From there we rode along our favorite Lachine Canal Bike Path, all the way to the Old Port of Montreal.

When we got to Old Montreal, by the Old Port, we parted company with Louis who continued to ride headed back to his home in Laval. He said that he might take a side trip, go up and down Mont-Royal before heading home.

We, Paul, Trish, Pilo and I decided to continue riding to Ile Notre Dame where the circuit Gilles Villeneuve is.

Here are some photos:
