Error 633 Message: The Modem Is Not Installed or Configured for...

Dial-Up Networking Problem
=========================

Error 633: The modem is not installed or configured for Dial-Up Networking.
To check your modem configuration, double-click the Modems icon in Control Panel

The above error also suggests that another device is currently using the same port (Com port 3) as the modem.

What happened?
==============
My modem was originally set up to use Com Port 3.

Changes made recently:
=======================
Added a new Dell AIO Printer and a Palm Treo 700 wx (Windows Pocket PC) version.

After probing, checking, etc - the Dell checked out OK (checked the Dell PC Fax set up as well).

Finally, I took a look at the Task Manager to see which programs were running and I noticed this program - wcescomm.exe - not familiar with it, so googled it and found that it is "wcescomm.exe is the Windows synchronization manager for Windows CE-based handhelds"

Checked the ActiveSync configuration and lo and behold it was set to have access to Com Port 3; disabled access to the Com Port 3, no need for it anyway, Problem Solved. Yeah baby!! :-))
