Lito Espinosa's Play of the Day

The phone rings during dinner -- do you answer it? (we usually do)

Or, do you jump up and check the Caller ID? (check)

Either way, you're sending a message that whoever is calling is more important than the people gathered around your table.

Try to make family mealtimes phone-free. (Amen) That goes for everyone -- from teenagers, to you too, Dad. (specially Dad, that's me alright)

Most callers can wait a half-hour for you to get back with them.

Family dinners are often the only uninterrupted daily time you spend with your kids. Treasure it.

at one time I even considered getting a call display system that would project the number on to the wall so that I will be able to view the number from a distance :-)
