My Utmost for His Highest Daily Devotional

My Utmost for His Highest Daily Devotional

My daughter Pam gave me a copy of "My Utmost for His Highest" for Christmas. It came in a really nice leather bound cover.

The challenge is I've got so much reading material to go through. Solution- pray for the Holy Spirit's leading. This afternoon I picked up my reading at the devotion for January 27 and the message was just right on for me. God is good indeed! The other book and devotional that I am also reading and following is Rick Warren's (from Saddleback Church, Lake Forest, California) "Purpose Driven Life" - a 40 Day spiritual journey. You will be blessed!

"A warning which needs to be repeated is that "the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches," and the lust for other things, will choke out the life of God in us ( Matthew 13:22 ). We are never free from the recurring waves of this invasion. If the frontline of attack is not about clothes and food, it may be about money or the lack of money; or friends or lack of friends; or the line may be drawn over difficult circumstances. It is one steady invasion, and these things will come in like a flood, unless we allow the Spirit of God to raise up the banner against it."
