Vacation Update :-)

So many TV channels in our condo TV, BUT NO OLN. We were not able to watch the last stage (ride to Paris) of the Tour De France. Good, at least, that Lenny's recorded it on their PVR.
WOW!! Unprecedented 7 Tour De France Win!! Congratulations Lance and the Discovery Channel Cycling Team!!

High Speed, Wifi connection NADA too - we're up in the mountains, away from the high tech world :) Thank God I am able to connect via my dial up connection, long distance, in Montreal. That made this post possible.

Dateline - Cedarbrook, Killington, VT

Arrived safely last night. Stopped by Burlington, Vermont on the way here for some exploratory shopping. :-) Stayed with Lenny and Marv's in their condo for the night (ours was only ready this afternoon). Dad, Mom, and Rosie are with us, and they will be staying with Lenny and Marv's. Their condo is a a two bedroom suite with two baths and a full kitchen.

Had a good breakfast this morning. Checked out the brochures and maps given to us by the condo resort management. Needed to pick some groceries, so we headed to Rutland, Vermont, a 25 mile drive, approximately 20 minutes away. On the way we took the East Mountain road to scout out the route we plan to take when we go for our bike ride. We were reminded of the category 3 or 4 climbs :-), in some places a little more.

Found the Walmart store in downtown Rutland- stopped there for a bit. We also found the Price Chopper supermarket where we picked up supplies for this evening's dinner and tomorrow's breakfast. Breakfast- well we just might eat out, try one of the popular breakfast joint here and sample their famous pancakes.

Bike ride- well, we did go for a short ride. With very little warm up, being in a mountain resort area, we encountered our first climb, then a little bit of flat before the next climb :-) Love it!! :-) On the way back I hit a top speed of 63.6 kph.

We'll take the same route tomorrow but hopefully ride a little farther out to see a historic place where the former US president Calvin Coolidge is associated with.

Before dinner, this was around 7 - 7:30pm, we went for a swim at the resorts outdoor heated pool. We had the pool to ourselves, a la Mont St. Anne.

Dinner was served around 9 pm. Had a great dinner - Mom and Dad made adobong manok. With rice and salad, it was better than eating out.

After dinner we watched a Pinoy movie, I believe the title was "Tanging Yaman", with Gloria Romero, Hilda Koronel, Dina Bonnevie, Edu Manzano, etc.

C'est tout for now :)
