Dessert at Beaver Tail and Ben & Jerry's at the Old Port

Allen, waiting for his fried dough, better known here as Beaver Tail

Beaver Tail mascot, Monsieur Castor

Tita Nil and Tito Lits pose by the Beaver Tail sign while waiting for their order

Heading over to Ben & Jerry's. Dessert not yet complete without a stop at Ben & Jerry's by Place Jacques Cartier.

Are you talking to me? Behind me, faintly seen in the background, is the City Hall and office of the Mayor of Montreal. Let's go say hello to him.

Hmmm, what flavor should I get? Let me try the "menthe aux pepites de chocolat", in a cup s'il vous plait.

Man, this is good!! I think Trish wants to try some. Here Trishy.

Tita Nil waits patiently at the same time amused at seeing Tito Lits savouring every teaspoonful of his ice cream.

Ben & Jerry's is housed in this old, vintage building along side Place Jacques Cartier in Old Montreal.

Back out into Place Jacques Cartier, where we watched, listened and got entertained by a talented street musician singing an "America" song which he accompanied with his guitar.

The Montreal City Hall as seen from Place Jacques Cartier. A few years ago Trish and I lined up for a few hours to pay our respect to the former and late Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Elliot Trudeau. During the course of the evening a motorcade pulled in and out from one of the limousines stepped out Pres. Fidel Castro of Cuba who flew in to pay his respects. He also stayed for the funeral ceremonies the day after.

There are more pictures from our outing, and you'll find them here.

Pam took most, if not all, of the photos. For a change, I am in most of the photos. :)
